SignZA was created because South African businesses deserve a legally compliant, ZAR-priced e-signature tool that actually understands local law — not a global product bolted onto a different legal system.
In South Africa, getting a document signed used to mean one of two things: print it out and courier it across town, or pay for a global e-signature platform priced in USD — usually at R300–R500 a month — with no local support and no guarantee that the audit trail would hold up under the ECT Act.
For a solo accountant sending engagement letters, or a contractor getting sign-off on a scope of work, that's an absurd price to pay. And for the signer — a client who just wants to confirm a quote — being forced to create an account with a foreign platform they've never heard of is a dealbreaker.
So we built SignZA: a South African product, priced in Rand, built on South African law. No account needed to sign. Full audit certificate attached to every completed document. And pricing that makes sense for a business billing in ZAR.
The goal was simple — make legal document signing as easy as sending a WhatsApp.
Craig built SignZA out of frustration. Running Grey Matter Consulting — a South African digital consultancy — meant dealing with the same pain every client faced: document signing was either slow, expensive, or legally questionable.
As a South African founder, Craig wanted a product that fits the local market — not one that treats ZAR as an afterthought and local law as a footnote. SignZA is that product.

ECT Act 25 of 2002
Fully compliant
The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 is South Africa's governing legislation for digital signatures. Under Section 13, an electronic signature is legally binding if it is attached to or associated with a document, and if it identifies the signatory and indicates their approval of the contents.
SignZA is designed around this requirement. Every signed document includes a tamper-evident audit certificate that records the signer's full name, IP address, timestamp, and a consent declaration — giving your signed documents the same legal standing as a handwritten signature in a South African court.
This is not a feature you need to opt into. It is built into every document you send, on every plan — including the free one.
Not promises we plan to revisit when we scale. These are baked into how the product works.
Free plan at R0. Pro at R99/month or R890/year. No USD invoices, no currency fluctuation surprises, no conversion fees. What you see is what you pay.
Documents and audit records are stored locally. We do not route your clients' sensitive business documents through offshore servers. Local data for a local product.
Every document sent through SignZA is covered by a full audit certificate. Legal validity under the ECT Act is not an add-on tier. It is the baseline — on every plan, for every document.
Your client receives a unique signing link by email or WhatsApp. They open it on any phone, tablet, or computer — sign directly in their browser — and they're done. No app to install. No password to create. No friction between you and a signed contract.
